Dr. Pesut, a native of Maine, completed his undergraduate studies in biology at The University of Maine before pursuing his dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating in 2016. Following dental school and in his veteran parents’ footsteps (both of whom were veterinarians), Dr. Pesut joined the United States Army, where he began his military service at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency. His service in the Army as a general dentist took him to South Korea. While there, he earned the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding clinical performance. Dr. Pesut’s continued military service then took him to San Antonio, Texas where he served with the United States Air Force. While there, he pursued his specialty training in periodontics. After completing his residency, he served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state as an Army periodontist. During his tenure at JBLM, Dr. Pesut mentored for the AEGD residency program, providing specialized training in periodontics to general dentistry residents. This opportunity allowed further expertise across the various areas of dentistry. He completed his military service in 2024 after eight years of active duty. In addition, he is board-certified in periodontology and dental implant surgery by The American Board of Periodontology.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Pesut enjoys traveling, hiking, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with his husband, Andrew, and their family.
